Stitching Social Terms and Conditions:

The term host/staff/ The Handmade Elephant refers to the staff member/s running the social event.
The term attendee/participants refers to any person participating/ visiting. 

The Stitching Social events are located at:
The Handmade Elephant
6 Bell Street, 
Wigston Magna 
LE18 1AD

The event is situation on the first floor via stair access.

Weekly Stitching Social- Runs every Wednesday morning 10am-11:30am
Saturday Stitching Social- Runs the first Saturday of the month 10am- 11:30am
After Hours Stitching Social- Runs the third Wednesday of the month 6pm-8pm

By purchasing a ticket attendees are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Stitching Socials.

Venue/Age Restrictions:
Stitching Socials are located on the first floor. Attendees must be able to independently ascend and descend the stairs. 
There are no disabled facilities.
Children/Under 16's are not permitted to attend any Stitching Socials. 16 and 17 years old (refereed to as a young person) must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Attendees may be requested to show proof of age for yourself or a young person. 
Attendees who are purchasing tickets for a young person will be responsible for their actions and may be asked to leave should the young person not abide by the terms and conditions set out. 

The Event:
Stitching Socials are not formal workshops. Attendees are required to bring their own projects to work on. 
Attendees are permitted to take part in crafts including (but not limited to):
knitting, crochet, embroidery, felting, hand sewing, beading, jewellery making etc
Attendees are not permitted to complete heat based or 'wet' crafts such as (but not limited to): 
any ironing, soldering, wet felting, dyeing, batiks, any craft using adhesives, painting etc

It is the attendees responsibility to ensure the project they bring is suitable. Attendees DO NOT have access to electrical power sources.
Due to space restrictions, projects must be small enough to not impede on another persons working area. Large scale projects are not suitable. 

If the craft you intended on completing is not listed and you are unsure if this event is suitable please contact The Handmade Elephant prior to purchasing a ticket.

Attendees are not allowed to use the space for teaching.

Conduct:
The Handmade Elephant aims to create a positive, friendly environment, inclusive of people from a range of backgrounds. To ensure that every attendee feels safe, all must take care in conducting themselves in the appropriate manner. The Handmade Elephant expects all attendees to be polite and will not tolerate any intimidating or offensive behaviour. Foul language or language that which falls under hate crimes in NOT permitted. Attendees should be considerate in not imposing strong views that may cause another to feel uncomfortable. This can include (but not limited to) strong racial, political, homophobic etc language or behaviour. The Handmade Elephant reserves the rights to cancel attendance and ask individuals to leave in these situation.

Food and Drink:
Attendees will have access to free tea and coffee. Attendees are permitted to bring their own non-alcoholic drinks however food is not permitted. The Handmade Elephant is a nut-free premises and nut products (including in drink form) are NOT permitted.
It is the attendees responsibility to act with caution surrounding their own allergies/intolerances and is recommended that they collect their own refreshments to ensure its source. 
Attendees must show caution when moving and working in an environment where there may be hot fluids. The Handmade Elephant is not responsible for any injuries or damage or loss of personal property that may occur during the Stitching Social.

Ticket sales:
Ticket sales are limited due to space.
Tickets will be available in person and online. Online ticket sales will be taken directly through www.thehandmadeelephant.co.uk and no other platform. Online ticket sales require a name and email address. You will be required to give your name and order number at the start of the event. 

There will be an allocation of in-person tickets available only at the till on the shop floor to accommodate attendees who do not have access to internet services. If tickets are sold out online, there may still be in-person tickets available. 
You will be required to leave a name and contact number upon ticket purchases made in-person. This will only be used to inform you of any changes to the planned event. 

Tickets for the Weekly Stitching Social will be released the Thursday prior to the event at 10am both online and in-person. 
Tickets for the Saturday Stitching Social will be released the Saturday 2 weeks prior to the event at 10am both online and in-person.
Tickets for the After Hours Stitching Social will be released the Wednesday 2 weeks prior to the event at 10am both online and in-person.

Cancellations/refunds:
Ticket sales are final and are non-refundable/exchangeable. 
Should the host encounter staffing issues or an issue which may prevent the safe running of the social event they have the right to cancel the event at any point. Attendees will be notified via contact information they have provided during the purchase process (an email address for online ticket sales/phone number for in-person ticket sales). Online ticket sales will be refunded via the card payment used online within 5 working days. Tickets purchased in-person will be refunded in the same method/with the same card used to purchase the ticket. Attendees will have 28 days to claim their refund should the event be cancelled.
